About the Zeta Sigma Chapter
The Zeta Sigma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Incorporated, was chartered on the campus of North Carolina Central University on February 9, 1974. The Zeta Sigma chapter was the first chapter of the organization to be chartered at a Historically Black College or University in the State of North Carolina, and the 162nd chapter chartered overall. The chartering colony consisted of Clifton Bryant (oboe), Elliott D. Crowder (percussion), Arnold E. George (saxophone), Walter T. Jackson, III (trumpet), Wesley J. Jackson, Jr. (saxophone), Reginald E. Land (saxophone), Benjamin B. Sherard (trombone), Danny J. Worthy (percussion), Kenneth G. Vinson (percussion), and Director of Bands Mr. Willie J. Williams.
